Meet Laura a Modern Wysewoman
My Path and Practice
My name is Laura Doherty, and I am a celebrant, death doula, and grief guide, walking the hills that cradle my home, where the trees speak, and the earth whispers its timeless wisdom. For over two decades, I have been supporting individuals and families as they navigate life’s most profound transitions, using nature-based practices, rituals, and ceremonies to honour the sacredness of each moment. As a Pagan priestess, I’ve been immersed in the transformative power of ritual, community, and connection — weaving these elements into every aspect of my work. These sacred spaces help us align with the land, each other, and the deeper truths within ourselves.

Honouring Life, Death & Grief
I work from a place of deep reverence for nature and the wisdom it offers. The land, the trees, the cycles of the seasons — all guide me in my practice. Whether through personal rituals, meaningful ceremonies, or the communal spaces I create in retreats and workshops, I help people reconnect with the earth and their own inner magic. These practices are not just part of my work, but the very foundation of how I walk this path — in harmony with the natural world.
As a mother of four, a wife, and a proud bisexual woman in the LGBTQ+ community, I live my values daily. My own lived experiences — navigating life as a neurodivergent and disabled person — have shaped how I show up in the world. I bring this perspective into my work with a deep empathy for each individual’s unique journey. I know what it is to move through the world differently, and I approach each person’s grief and celebration with understanding, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to honouring their truth.
it is my mission – to see you, hear you, and walk alongside you– allowing you to claim your inner magic so you take up space & live your precious life fully.
Living in Harmony with Nature
In my work, I believe that we are all part of the sacred web of life, connected to the land, each other, and something much greater than ourselves.
Life is sacred, death is sacred, and grief — though often painful — carries immense power, strength, and wisdom within it. My mission is to help people meet death and their grief with dignity, peace, and love. By preparing for death, just as we prepare for weddings, holidays, or big life changes, we create space for peace — for ourselves, our loved ones, and those who will carry us in memory.
This work is about more than just guiding through transitions; it is about reclaiming your space in the world, living fully, and embracing the magic that is yours to claim.
Preparing for death is not a morbid task; it is a radical act of kindness and compassion — an expression of love towards ourselves and our families.

I vow to stand by your side as your advocate, companion, teacher, and student. Through the journey of life, death, and beyond, I promise to honour and support you wholeheartedly. Your presence is a gift, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside you on this sacred path.

A Life Rooted in Family and Identity
I stand by the values of compassion, respect, and love that my family instils in me every day. My own lived experiences — as a proud bisexual woman and a member of the LGBTQ+ community — shape how I walk in the world. I am married to my wonderful husband, and together, we have four children who inspire me to live authentically and courageously.
Our family is completed by our beloved pets, who bring both joy and grounding to our lives. As a neurodivergent and disabled person, I understand the importance of honouring our unique experiences and living with authenticity. This empathy drives my work with each individual and family I have the privilege to support.
